I designed this encyclopedia of colors using my photographs of tulips from my travels to the Netherlands.
My process included creating a grid with squares that correspond with every part of the photo. I selected a color from the photo using the eyedropper tool which I used to fill the square. After selecting a color from every section of the picture, I labeled the color with its hexadecimal code, so that it can be easily reproduced on digital softwares.
One fact that I found very interesting is that there are over 16 million colors on RGB screens despite humans not being able to see or differentiate between nearly that many. The 704 colors that I digitally identified and labeled in this project are all originated from nature and they are just a very small preview to the variations of colors that can be found in the natural world around us.
